Animal Care and Training

What you will get from this internship:

• Assist with hands-on training with all animals involved in the zoo & therapy program consisting of: Desensitization, halter/lead training, clicker training, and maintenance of each animal’s existing training & skills they have to date. 

• Assist with Veterinary treatments and/or appointments 

• Report care and training needs to the manager in a timely manner. 

• A project, that the student will come up with and the manager will approve, will be required. This can be discussed and customized to the student during the internship. 

Barn Managment

What you will gain from this internship:

• Learn about managing personnel and animals, evaluating animal needs, and getting supplies for animals and the business.

• Learn about managing tour times, marketing for the petting zoo, and creating social media posts. 

• A project, that the student will come up with and the manager will approve, will be required. This can be discussed and customized to the student during the internship.
